Arlington PD aviation Unit Equipment Demonstration of the Avenger Unmanned Aerial System (UAS)

This video highlights our Avenger being used by the APD aviation Unit showing takeoffs and landings. Make sure you also view their other aviation Unit video below that talks about the intended uses of our unit.

Arlington PD Public Information Dept on the Avenger

This video features Police Chief Will Johnson and Public Information Supervisor, Sgt. Christopher Cook on Arlington's aviation Unit. See what their program is all about, their intended uses of the small helicopters, and some of the capabilities.  The Arlington TX PD has a great Public Information Department.  Following their footsteps and the guidelines set forth by the International association of Chiefs of Police is a very important part of public relations and the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems by law enforcement and first responders.

Why purchase small helicopters instead of larger, more commonly used helicopters? - Unmanned aircraft technology provides an alternative to traditional aviation for law enforcement agencies. Unmanned or remotely piloted aircraft are much cheaper to own and operate than traditional fixed-wing planes and helicopters. although our small helicopters look similar to hobby aircraft, they are equipped with more sophisticated navigation and communication equipment that allows for safer and more reliable operations and are operated under different FAA regulations.
